Welcome to APANY, Inc. New York Branch
The Anguilla Progressive Association of New York, Inc, (APANY), is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in New York State since 1996, to create and maintain positive socio-economic and cultural development partnerships between Anguillians at home and throughout the diaspora.
Since our inception during 1996, when the Anguilla Progressive Association of New York, Inc. (APANY) was founded by a group of concerned Anguillians residing in New York, to provide assistance in response to the destruction caused by Hurricane Luis on Anguilla in September 1995; APANY remains involved with reaching out globally to the Anguillian Diaspora, Friends of Anguilla, donors, volunteers, supporters and our sponsors to provide charitable support for “goodwill projects” to benefit Anguilla’s socio-economic and cultural development.
Based in New York City under the leadership of Carlson Connor its President with a sister chapter in Florida, the Anguilla Progressive Association of New York, Inc., (APANY), is a leader in nonprofit philanthropy that is most recognized, to accept donations from organizations, individuals, donors and supporters who want to support charitable “goodwill projects” on the island nation of Anguilla.
As an illustration of our point, during the immediate aftermath of the devastation of Anguilla by Hurricane Irma in September 2017, the Government of Anguilla authorized the Anguilla Progressive Association of New York, Inc.., (APANY), to serve as the official hurricane relief organization for the island nation of Anguilla.
Shortly thereafter, the Anguilla Progressive Association of New York, Inc., (APANY) officers, members, and supporters spearheaded their own relief efforts by collecting and donating several shipments of food, water, supplies, and other emergency products for distribution among communities across Anguilla.
Also, Friends of Anguilla, generous private donors and supporters contacted APANY and made charitable donations to assist in the recovery and restoration of churches, schools, and Anguilla’s infrastructure.
Based on new developments and charitable “goodwill projects” that are on our agenda, the Anguilla Progressive Association of New York, Inc., (APANY) welcomes your continued support. As you will notice, we have re-designed our website to reflect and provide a better understanding of the scope of those charitable “goodwill projects”.
To be more specific with honorable mention of one of those charitable “goodwill projects”, The Anguilla Progressive Association of New York, Inc. (APANY); is poised to engage in planning and coordinating to host the “The Anguilla Nevis St. Kitts Association Reunion” on the island nation of Anguilla during July 10-12, 2020.
Who is ANSAR:
ANSAR is an acronym for Anguilla Nevis St Kitts Association Reunion. Every two years, the Anguilla Nevis St. Kitts Association Reunion convenes a conference that is hosted in different cities.
Read more about ANSAR at http://www.ansarinc.org/
The aims and objectives of ANSAR are:
To establish and rekindle old alliances;
To strengthen the bonds of friendship, sisterhood, and brotherhood;
To participate in various social activities, mutual interest, including issues of socio-economic and cultural development;
To remain connected by our common heritage, our history, and cultural legacy;
To promote greater global awareness of Anguilla, Nevis, and St. Kitts.
The idea for the Anguilla Nevis St. Kitts Association Reunion originated in Montreal, Canada in 1983; by its founder Mrs. Faustina France-Charbonneau and the Executive Council of the St. Kitts-Nevis & Anguilla Association of Montreal.
After contacting other nationals of (St. Kitts, Nevis, and Anguilla) at home and abroad, it was agreed that the idea had generated sufficient interest to organize the first-ever Anguilla Nevis St. Kitts Association Reunion.
During May 1984, this dream was realized with Montreal being the host city for the Anguilla Nevis St. Kitts Association Reunion conference. The 2018 Anguilla Nevis St. Kitts Association Reunion conference was held on the island of St. Kitts and Nevis during June 22-24.
[The Anguilla Nevis St. Kitts Association Reunion aims and objectives, is a suitable match that is similar to the theme that the Anguilla Progressive Association of New York., Inc. (APANY), has proposed in an effort to create more awareness and support for “Diaspora Tourism to Anguilla, St. Kitts and Nevis.”]
